Jennifer McGuire, CBC's interim head of news, announced that some evening newscasts will grow to 90 minutes from one hour. They will begin at 5 p.m. and will be followed by Coronation Street at 6:30 p.m., and the game shows Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in the 7-8 p.m. timeslot.

CBC to expand supper-hour newscasts despite cuts
