Reign of the journos at Rideau Hall comes to an end

Reportedly, the prime minister reviewed a wide array of candidates for governor general, including many from sports, entertainment and journalism. In the end, he apparently concluded that the reign of the journos should come to an end at Rideau Hall. Might be a good thing. It's widely thought today that David Johnson, the president of Waterloo University, will be the next GG. His accomplishments are not flashy and he is certainly a match intellectually to those who have gone before. TPG
