A black day in Cincinnati and other Gannett cities as the newspaper giant let 700 people go in its community publishing division. That is said to amount to three percent of its employees across newspapers like The Courier-Journal of Louisville, Ky., The Cincinnati Enquirer in Ohio and The Indianapolis Star. The company’s flagship paper, USA Today, cut 9 percent of its workforce last summer and was not affected by the layoffs
