In February 2011, FP signed an agreement to partner with a local restaurateur who intends to operate Canada's first "News Cafe". It will be a "community hub where customers can interact and engage with journalists working on-site. The News Cafe will have the added benefit of giving the Free Press a downtown presence, which it hasn't had since it moved to its current location in 1991."
