U.S. media allowed to witness return of war casualty

For the first time in 18 years, U.S. media was allowed to cover the arrival of an serviceman killed overseas, the first such opportunity since the Obama administration overturned a ban on news coverage of returning war dead.

Air Force officials received permission from family members to observe the return of the body of 30-year-old Staff Sgt. Phillip Myers, who was killed April 4 by an improvised explosive device in Afghanistan.
