Fiona Conway heads to Canada and the CBC

Fiona Conway is heading back to Canada to join the CBC after what many will call a lifetime at ABC News. Ms Conway joined ABC with the ascension of Peter Jennings to the anchorship of World News Tonight with Peter Jennings (as it was known at the time). She was Jennings point-person for hard news for many years. Most recently Fiona Conway was director of  ABC news and client services based in New York. She will return to her native Canada to take on the challenging work of driving the cross-platform rationalization of the CBC. Her title is that of executive director. As told by the Hollywood Reporter, Ms  Conway's new post at the CBC "includes helping ensure the Canadian pubcaster remains relevant to Canadians in the increasingly digitally-driven news arena.  Her ABC stints included senior producer for Good Morning America and ABC World News Tonight, where she worked with fellow Canadian Peter Jennings." She is still well-remembered by many as a no nonsense producer at CTV in the 1980s.  Fiona Conway issued a statement in which she said “I have been really fortunate at ABC News to have been a part of some of the biggest news stories of our time. I can’t think of a more exciting next chapter than my new role with CBC News,”
